Nepal’s leading media house, Himalaya Television Network, has officially secured the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Nepal. The network will deliver the tournament through its newly launched sports channel, Himalaya Sports, in partnership with the Dish Home Go app.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Football’s biggest tournament is scheduled to begin on June 11, 2026, and conclude on July 19, 2026. Fans across Nepal are eagerly waiting for the month-long football spectacle.

This year’s tournament will feature 48 teams, an expansion from the previous 32-team format seen in the 2022 edition. Reigning champions Argentina will enter the competition aiming to defend their title on the world stage.

The official broadcasting rights for Nepal have been obtained through AcePro Media, while Himalaya Television Network will handle the local telecast. With the launch of Himalaya Sports, Nepali viewers are expected to receive dedicated coverage of the tournament throughout the competition.

The network is also likely to air matches across multiple channels whenever simultaneous fixtures are played. Reports suggest that broadcasts could be available in both English and Nepali commentary, although official confirmation on Nepali-language coverage is yet to be announced.

Speaking during the announcement event, Dharmaraj Bhusal, Chairman of Himalaya Television Network, stated that bringing the FIFA World Cup to Nepali audiences would mark a major milestone for the country’s sports broadcasting industry. Similarly, Suraj Giri, CEO of Himalaya Sports, described the agreement as a historic achievement for Nepali sports media.

For online viewers, the Dish Home Go app will provide OTT streaming access to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in Nepal. More local streaming platforms and television partners could also join the coverage lineup in the coming months.

Unlike previous years, Nepali football fans will no longer need to depend on foreign television channels to enjoy the FIFA World Cup, as the tournament will now be officially available through domestic broadcasters and streaming services.
