The Qatar Airways Martyr’s Memorial A-Division League 2019/20 is finally coming to its final day as Tribhuwan Army Club takes in Machhindra to determine the new League Champions. The match is the title decider match with the winner taking home the title. However, a draw would help the Armymen win the title.
Till the end of 12th round, Army has 29 points and Machhindra are on 28 points. However, Machhindra got a point deducted for this season as they finished 13th last season and there wasn’t the provision of relegation. Therefore, in order to compensate that, Machhindra got a point deducted this time.
The match will be played at Dashrath Stadium with the match set to kick off at 1:30 pm. During the pre-match press conference, both team’s representative were determined to win their first league title.
Machhindra come up as pre-tournament favorites as they lure most of the star players from Manang Marshyangdi and Three Star Club. Machhindra Club are filled with star players and with inclusion of Bimal G Magar for the last match, the morale will be high for them. Bimal is all set to start against Army after completing his 90 days suspension.
The league, that was kick-off in December 14, 2019 comprises of 14 teams with only one team being relegated to the B Division league. Saraswoti Youth Club is relegated to the B Division league after finishing bottom of the table this season with only a win and a draw.
