Indian Premier League (IPL) side Delhi Capitals has added one more spinners to their squad for the coming league. Delhi had added Mayank Markande in their squad from Mumbai Indians. With him, there are now four leg-spinners in the team.
After Markande’s inclusion in the team, Nepal’s leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane could be in trouble to make it to the squad. Even if Lamichhane is included in the Delhi squad, it would be very hard for him to make it to the starting XI. Along with Lamichhane and Markande Delhi has Amit Mishra and Rahul Tewatia who are well know for leg spinning.
As Sandeep Lamichhane had 3-years deal with Delhi based team, it is almost certain that Lamichhane will once again be the part of IPL from Delhi. Therefore, with 4 leg spinners in the team, it would be very difficult for him to break into the starting eleven of the team.
Sandeep had played just 3 matches in his debut IPL season and had impressed the team committee and eventually was retained by Delhi. In his second stint at Delhi, Lamichhane played 6 matches where he managed to grab 8 wickets. His performance was average in that season.
